The Mobvoi Ticwatch Gtx comes with full metal construction and a few nice curves around. The dial is round – no surprises here. The choice between a circular dial or a rectangular dial seems to have no end. This watch with the circular dial retains a strong vintage sense that perfectly complements the otherwise modern features that one expects from smartwatches. The smartwatch industry has seen a massive shift especially in the last 2-3 years and is rapidly developing from what started primarily as fitness bands.
It features a 1.28-inch TFT round display along with 240 x 240 resolution. Mobvoi has opted for homegrown OS for this watch. While the user interface is very pretty ordinary, it packs a strong punch with the vivid colours and overall is quite snappy to use. As far as the fitness credentials are concerned, it comes equipped with step count, heart rate and weather. Mobvoi has its own set of apps for tracking fitness and day-to-day activities like TicExercise, TicPulse, TicSleep and others. It has 14 sports modes — outdoor Run, outdoor cycling, jump rope, swimming, indoor walking, rowing, freestyle, mountain climbing, indoor run, gymnastics, soccer, basketball, indoor cycling and yoga. The notifications on the smartwatch don’t look very enticing, to be honest, but it is something that is expected from a smartwatch.
As advertised the battery backup and the capacity is super impressive and the watch is anyways very power efficient. The battery consumption is actually contingent depending upon how many notifications you receive in a day pr for how many apps you have turned notifications on. In some qualifying tests, it has lasted for six to seven days. It was easy to blend the smartwatch with the magnetic charger it comes with. On the downside, the smartwatch takes two hours to get fully charged which is a bit on the higher side.
