With the new OnePlus, One Plus 9r 5g has launched its flagship product on a live stream where it also launched its OnePlus watch. The OnePlus 9 arrives with the new Hassel-blad cameras on the back panel which probably is its unique selling proposition.
This phone is powered by the very successful and proficient Snapdragon 888 chipset and will run on the latest OxygenOS on top of Android 11. The OnePlus 9 5G has launched two variants in the form of 8/128GB and the 12/256GB with a sizeable price gap. The OnePlus 9 comes with a 6.55-inch Full-HD+ (2400×1080 pixels) AMOLED display and on top of that a 120Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen fields a Corning Gorilla Glass protection and supports up to 1100 nits of peak brightness.
The camera app features the all-important and sought-after Hasselblad Pro Mode that allows for adjusting of ISP range, white balance, and more manually, for a professional camera experience. The smartphone now gets 5G and gets a dual-cell 4500mAh battery with a 65W Warp Charge fast charging solution. The quad rear camera setup includes a 48-megapixel primary camera with OIS support, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, an 8-megapixel telephoto shooter, and a 2-megapixel monochrome camera. It gets a 16-megapixel shooter with EIS support at the front.
It is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 870 SoC, along with up to 12GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with a quad rear camera setup that houses a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor, coupled with an f/1.7 lens. The camera setup also has a 16-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, 5-megapixel macro shooter, and a 2-megapixel monochrome shooter.
Whether it justifies the price tag it comes with is left to be seen.
