Introduction

The entire M series of Samsung has gained a truckload of traction courtesy its low to medium price range and constant hardware upgrades. Samsung has now come up with the successor to the much successful Samsung Galaxy M30, theSamsung Galaxy M31.

Design and structure of Samsung Galaxy M31

The manufactures have interestingly preferred plastic over a glass body. Even then it was not able to cut down on the weight and the phone weighs on the heavier side at 191g. Also, the phone sports a spectacular 6.4 Full HD (1080×2340) OLED panel which offers rich, vibrant colours and an excellent level of detail. It comes at a compromise of 1440p displays which, to be honest is still worth it. Given the price range, slightly broad bezels are acceptable. On the upside, It gives a very comfortable hold in the hand, especially with the slightly curved edges. The Galaxy M31 comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and speaker at the bottom. The top only has the secondary microphone thus enabling a wide range of device connections.

Hardware

Interestingly, Samsung has stuck with the Exynos 9611 SoC from their previous editions. For graphics, it has gone with the Mali-G72 GPU. Along with it, the customers get 6GB of RAM and a choice between a 64GB storage variant and a 128GB storage variant for Rs. 15,999 or Rs. 16,999 respectively.

Camera

In the front of cameras, The Samsung Galaxy M31features a quad-camera setup at the rear and a sharp single 32-megapixel selfie shooter. The primary camera on the Galaxy M31 has a 64-megapixel resolution and f/1.8 aperture. So, this camera is enabled to take 16-megapixel binned shots by default but you can switch to the full resolution. It also comes with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 123-degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture. In addition, the other two are a 5-megapixel depth sensor and a 5-megapixel macro camera.
