Pursuant to its mojo of justifying the value paid for, Redmi Note 10x offers features that are a step or two ahead and at the same time is limited with the affordable boundaries of most people especially the Indian middle class. There is a good aspirational value given the big screen, big battery, powerful processor and impressive cameras especially for this budget albeit at a limited quality. Redmi Note 10x is the flagship product of the newly launched Redmi Note 10 Series. Variants are available with respect to storage sizes of 64GB and 128GB.
The processor it features is Snapdragon 732G SoC should be more than enough for lasting a day and enabling demanding gaming and one of the variants is 8GB of ram with 128 GB of storage. The screen although unremarkable is quite impressive with a 6.67-inch full-HD+ super AMOLED panel with full DCI-Pe colour gamut coverage, a 120 Hz maximum refresh rate and HDR10 support.
It is powered by a 5020 mAh battery chargeable at 33W. It includes LTE, dual-band wi-fi ac, Bluetooth, stereo speakers, a haptic vibrator and all the usual sensors. It also includes other modes for instance document, panorama, time, lapse, and AI watermark.
The camera quality is also quite satisfying, especially with the close-ups. Objects at a distance look considerably well at a default 12MP resolution. Results look a bit blunt even at full resolution. The wide-angle camera is a source of the shortcoming as it captures blurred shots with below-par contrast but the depth effect can be adjusted.
This phone seems to cater to a specific group of aspirational middle-class people, at least what could be figured out from the price range and features. It’s a great phone but little can be argued as being head and shoulders above some of its competitors.
